im back, ill post in trip reports when i get some
video on you tube. not sure if i got any pics.

nothing broke but i got somethin weird goin on in
my front end. when i go over 10 mph with the front
hubs locked it jerks to the right and sounds like the caliper
is locking up or a wheel bearing is binding. it also vibes
alittle. but its intermittant only at speed and only with
the hubs locked

are there bearings that only spin when the hubs are locked?

i can drive down the freeway at 80
i can put it in 4 high the hubs in the free position and go pretty fast


if i lock my hubs even without 4wd engaged it moans like when youre
riding the brakes downhill and pulls passenger but only for a second.
it also vibes like a bad driveshaft of and on. i first noticed it when turning
in 4high 30 minutes after i started down the dirt road.

i wheeled all day only noticing it over 10mph every 5/10 minutes

I'm not sure about your setup but on my junk, there's a small needle type bearing inside the spindle that the short shaft rides on. I'm guessing that's the one giving you problems and its also the hardest one to change.

i think its called the spindle bearing, and yeah ill have to take
my hub in somewhere i assume. im pretty sure this happened
on my early bronco front 44

might as well pull it apart and get it delt with while i mount my tires.
gonna be a busy next 2 weeks!

This guy uses a puller attached to a slide hammer, I just take a long screw driver and tap it out with a hammer.

i jst cant make the time, its so frustrating.

taking it in monday.

i got my highlift and nitrogen tank mounted in the cab.

is co2better than nitrogen? everyone has there own opinion
it seems.

fyi for anyone reading this garbage it was my terrable front pinion angle. the ears on the front driveshafts where hitting the yoke on the axle and binding
